The theme of each presentation is “Life Lessons”. Strong and courageous women impart the lessons they have learned in their life - words of wisdom they believe are most beneficial to our path in becoming a true Millionaire Woman and helping us create a legacy of prosperity.

August 19, 2010 - Regular Meetings Resume - Winnie Walsh
What a life! Winnie Walker was born into a large Catholic family in New York. Right after high school she took a clerical job on Wall Street then with a publishing firm. She started college courses which she had to abandon after a year. Winnie maried and had 5 children, the youngest with Downs Syndrome. She stayed home for the next 20 years and began to write. Later she worked as an editor for a trade publication. That’s when she travelled to Savannah on business and never left. Winnie had always wanted to complete her college eduation and in 2010 (at 78) she finished her degree at Armstromg Atlantic University - probably their oldest graduate ever. She is also the author of several books including one about her son with Downs Syndrome and one about Savannah.

Upon graduation from Auburn University with a B.S. degree in Home Economics, Susan taught for 7 years in Dothan, Alabama. In 1980 she and her husband Gary moved to Dublin, GA where she turned her passion for needlework and instruction into owning a needlework boutique specializing in French hand sewing and quilting. When her second child was born, Susan decided to get her real estate license and work with her REALTOR husband thinking her time would be more flexible. In 1995 Susan and Gary sold their company in Dublin and purchased a real estate company in Savannah.
Susan was the 2008 President of the Savannah Multi-List Corporation and currently serves as a Director for the Savannah Multi-List Corporation. In 2009, Susan became a charter member of the Savannah Board of Realtors Hall of Fame for her 20 plus years of professional service to local, state and national Boards of REALTORS.
Having been married to the same man for over 36 years and raised 2 children, Susan is quick to say that working smart, not hard, is the key to success and the enjoyment of things in life that are truly important.

This program will be a departure from our regular “Life Lessons” as Ms. Rushe will present on a very timely topic. We wrote our Anticipation Letter in December and perhaps we added more New Year’s resolutions in January. How well are we sticking to those resolutions? Ms. Rushe will be addressing that very issue. Her presentation is entitled “After the Resolution: Using the Positivity of Risk.”

CAPT Donna Cottrell enlisted in the Coast Guard Reserve in 1983 after graduating from Ohio University in 1982. She was selected for Officer Candidate School in 1987. After her commission, CAPT Cottrell served aboard the USCGC STEADFAST. She attended Flight Training and was winged Coast Guard Aviator number 2961 in 1991. Her first aviation assignment was Air Station Chicago, IL.
